Beretta Roller Garage Door, Insulated Overhead Sectional Garage Door and Side-Hinged Garage Door Differences
Operation
Our Roller Garage Door and Insulated Sectional Overhead Garage Door open in a very similar way. They both open vertically and don’t take up any external space when being operated. When opened, the Roller Garage Door will roll up neatly into a box above the garage opening, whereas the Sectional Overhead Garage Door will slide along the rails and rest along the ceiling. The Sectional Overhead Garage Door will require more internal overhead space, but both doors will not require any external space.
Alternatively, the Side-Hinged Garage Door opens outwards onto the driveway. The bonus of having a Side-Hinged Garage Door means that you don’t have to compromise on any internal space and objects, such as a gas meter, will not have to be moved. However, it does mean that unlike the Roller Garage and Overhead Sectional Door, you do compromise on external space. You would be unable to park your vehicle too close to the garage door if you were planning to operate it. Side-Hinged Garage Doors are ideal for properties with long driveways and garages with limited headroom.
Aesthetics
All 3 door types come in a wide variety of colours and can be colour matched to your external windows and doors to complement your driveway. The Overhead Sectional Garage Door and Side-Hinged Garage door have a lot more options to customise and incorporate to create a door that suits you.
Both the Overhead Sectional Garage Door and Side-Hinged Garage door have the option to incorporate windows and louvred panels. The doors can be designed in certain periodic styles that suit your property, such as Georgian, Traditional or contemporary.
The Side-Hinged Garage Door can also be customised, from the doors being a 50/50 split or ⅓ to ⅔ split. This is popular with customers who use their garage as a home office or gym so allows you to pop in and out of your garage on foot by just simply opening the one door, instead of the complete door.
Ways to operate our Garage Doors
Our Roller Garage Door and Sectional Overhead Garage door are both operated electronically. They are both installed with control panels, courtesy lights, safety edges and 2x key fobs. The Side-Hinged Garage Door is operated manually and is installed with a door stay as standard. This will prevent the garage doors from swinging in the winds when the door is in use. All three doors involve very little maintenance.
Now we have established the differences between our garage doors, you may have an idea of what door best suits you. If you require any further information please check out our data information for each door or alternatively have a chat with our friendly team 01244 794 311.
