Choosing the right roller shutters for your security

When looking to install agricultural roller shutters at your agricultural property, it is important to establish the purpose to ensure you are choosing the right door for you. Our doors are very versatile and can be used for various applications. They can secure and protect valuable farm machinery, crops and livestock.

Beretta agricultural roller shutters based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, are made to measure and are designed to suit your requirements. If you are installing your roller shutter to house livestock or crops then we would recommend incorporating perforated or vision slats to encourage ventilation and airflow. Alternatively, if you are looking to protect machinery and equipment then incorporating a wicket gate may be preferred ensuring you can move the equipment around when the farm door shutters are open, or have the practical option if the door is closed to enter or leave on foot via a standard personnel door incorporated into the curtain.

Beretta robust and practical doors are made to measure, and designed bespoke to suit your requirements, ensuring your property is efficient and functioning well all year round. Our steel agricultural roller shutters are galvanised as standard, but available to powder coat for a surcharge.

Why choose agricultural roller shutters?

Agricultural buildings often require large, secure openings while still allowing easy access for machinery, vehicles and equipment. A steel roller shutter provides a practical solution where security, durability and reliable day-to-day operation are important.

Large openings for agricultural machinery

Agricultural roller shutters can be manufactured to accommodate large openings, providing clear access for tractors, agricultural machinery, trailers and other equipment. Beretta roller shutters can be manufactured to widths of up to 12 metres, subject to the specific shutter configuration and operating system.

Security for machinery and equipment

A robust steel roller shutter helps protect agricultural buildings, machinery, tools and stored equipment when the building is unattended. Solid steel slats provide a substantial barrier against unauthorised access while also helping to protect the building from wind and weather.

Ventilation where it is required

Ventilation can be particularly important in agricultural buildings, livestock facilities and storage areas. Perforated slats can allow increased airflow through the closed shutter while maintaining a level of security and protection.

Where visibility is useful, vision slats can also be specified. The choice between solid, perforated and vision slats allows the shutter to be configured around the requirements of the building.

Practical access for everyday use

Motorised operation makes larger agricultural roller shutters straightforward to open and close, while wicket gates can provide convenient pedestrian access where required. The shutter can therefore be configured around the way the building is actually used, rather than being limited to a standard specification.

Made to measure for your building

Every agricultural building is different. Opening dimensions, available headroom, required ventilation, security, frequency of use and access requirements can all influence the most suitable shutter specification. Beretta can advise on the appropriate configuration as part of the design and site-survey process.

BDS75 /BDP75/ BDV75 industrial steel roller shutters

The BDS75 is our most popular and versatile door and can be adapted to suit many applications. This door is most popular with retail, commercial, multi-storey car parks, industrial and agricultural premises. This door has the option of solid, perforated (BDP75) and vision slats (BDV75.)

Our solid slats are most popular with industrial buildings, whereas the perforated slats are most commonly installed in warehouses and car parks, and vision is ideal for retail and commercial properties. This door is galvanised, but can be powder coated on request.

Which agricultural roller shutter is right for your building?

The most suitable agricultural roller shutter depends on the building, the size of the opening and how the shutter will be used.

For maximum security and weather protection:

Solid steel slats provide a robust solution for workshops, machinery stores, agricultural buildings and other areas where protection from unauthorised access and the weather is important.

Where ventilation is important:

Perforated slats allow greater airflow through the closed shutter while retaining the security benefits of a steel roller shutter.

Where visibility is required:

Vision slats allow light and visibility through the shutter and can be useful where the contents of a building need to remain visible from outside.

For large machinery access:

Large-format roller shutters can provide wide clear openings for tractors, trailers and other agricultural machinery, with shutters available up to 12 metres wide subject to specification.

Where pedestrian access is also required:

A wicket gate can provide convenient everyday access without requiring the full roller shutter to be opened.

For frequent opening and closing:

Motorised operation provides convenient control of larger shutters and can be specified according to the size and usage requirements of the opening.

If you are unsure which configuration is most appropriate, Beretta can discuss your requirements and arrange a site survey to establish the most suitable solution.
